I'm kind of a pitiful excuse for one who earned a B.A. in English because I don't really read that much. I mean I read a lot, but not books. Not like used to. But then, I don't have all that much time in my day, so I'll cut myself some slack.
Anyway, thanks to the gentle prodding and pure enthusiasm of my co-worker who recently read "The Hunger Games," I was able to borrow it. I got the book on Thursday and were it not for life getting in the way, I would have finished it even before I did on Sunday.
In short, this is a great page-turner. I was totally captivated by the world that was created. The characters. The plot. I didn't want to put this one down! My co-worker, Allison, also wrote about it, so go on over and see what she said.
Just go out and get this book! You will not be disappointed. Even as I described it to Hylan, he wanted me to finish it, so he could hear what happened next. The best part is that now I can read book #2 and book #3 conveniently comes out in August. Rumor is the movie will be released in 2011, so methinks I will be excited when it does.
Oh yeah, and don't be turned off by any summary that claims it's a sci-fi young adult fiction book. Categorizing this book in such a silly way does it a disservice. Neither of those genres appeals to me, but I loved this book. So just trust that it's good because I said so.

What's the movie going to be rated? I'm glad you read it because I LOVED it! I've been waiting for over a year now for the third book to come out. But going back to the movie, I'm really wondering what it will be rated, because it is not a clean cut book.
I know what you mean. I'm hoping they clean it up a little because they really could make it quite gory and graphic if they wanted, but it would be a shame, because it's such a good story. So, we'll see.
Two thumbs up! I loved those books too, can't wait for the next one.
