Pink Day!

For many, Valentine's Day is red. For me, it's PINK!

I was in Hobby Lobby on Saturday and saw these dishes.

Now anyone who knows me knows how fanatical I am about flamingos. There are still small evidences of this obsession in my home today, though admittedly there are many more evidences in my childhood home.

It all stems from a 1st grade cereal box report on flamingos. Our teacher passed out National Geographic cards and we cut and paste fun facts and pictures about our animal on a blue paper covered cereal box. I just can't imagine who I would be today if I would have been assigned something like rhinoceros. Oh, how drab and boring my life would have been. HA!

Miss Glamingo! Ha ha. So adorable, I can't stand it.

Over the weekend, I also experimented with a different sugar cookie recipe. Now, I've made tons of cookies in my lifetime. With sugar cookies, I feel like I've made some good ones (that had been my favorite recipe) and some okay ones, but if you're looking for the ultimate soft, pillowy, bakery-style, thick, soft sugar cookie recipe, I have finally discovered it.

Lofthouse Style Soft Sugar Cookies from two peas & their pod

Umm, yes, I can be very girly when it comes to some things like baby pink heart sugar cookies with mini pearl sprinkles.

This so typifies Emily.

I highly recommend that sugar cookie recipe and the buttercream. It is divinelicious!

By the way, if you live close by, I still have a counter full of these cookies all plated up and I would be happy to make some special deliveries. Don't be shy.

Those are good looking cookies. I wish I lived close enough for a delivery. Riley and I made red velvet whoopie pies over the weekend from pinterest and I realized I have to stop saying I don't bake. It seems I bake all the time now!
