Self: This is Your Life

Sometimes I have to remind myself that my life is somewhat cool. Like, getting paid to listen to the prophet speak (yeah he came for devotional a week ago, and we get paid during the devotional hour)! Or, participating in a million dollar contest! Or, anticipating the filming of a fitness show in a couple of months. Or, being married to the one who is perfect for you.

I used to hike mountains everyday. Now they’re just figurative. Not literal.

Once I got to guest co-host a local TV talk show. That was kind of awesome.

I used to cook all the time. Now it’s mostly never, but occasionally on the weekends.

I get to teach yoga. I love yoga!

I work for two great universities.

I hate getting home at 7:30 every night…and now even later on Thursdays. But I guess that’s just my life right now. I don’t know how I could ever fit in a morning cardio session, seeing as how 9:30 pm is the earliest I can possibly get in bed and I have to have at least 8 hours of sleep to function at all during a day. So waking up at 4:55 am doesn’t work.

You know the phrase, what are you going to do about it? I’m thinking about it in the rhetorical context rather than the literal. I answered that a little more literally when Hylan asked me that. “Complain about it.” That was my response. Nothing left to do but complain. Then do it anyway (whatever it is). And move on.

Perhaps vent is a better word than complain. Complain sounds evil. Vent sounds like you’re just talking to get something off your chest. "Vent about it." Now that's going to be my response when Hylan asks, "Whatareyougoingtodoaboutit?"

Someday my life will be less complicated. I look forward to that day.

And the day when we’ll live in a beautiful house.

And sweet children to go in that house.

But that’s not my life right now.

Tonight: Into The Woods at the Scera Theatre. The anticipation of a fun, planned date makes me smile.

I love that you taking advantage of all the opportunities that present themselves NOW, and living life to the fullest and climbing those mountains. Even it they're not the mountains you envisioned yourself climbing.

And I think I might steal your response to "Whatareyougoingtodoaboutit?" I love it.
