Two new movie ratings:
- "Taken" - C (too violent for me*)
- "He's Just Not That Into You" - C (I thought it would be funny but the funniest parts were in the previews. Also, the movie left me feeling indifferent--it wasn't terrible but it wasn't that good either.)
*I get really turned off by excessively violent movies, especially glorified violence. It's hard for me to get over a moral critique when the violence is overwhelming. I felt like this movie was definitely on the verge of excessive, enough so that I couldn't really appreciate the tenacity of a protective father and the exposure of a horrible social issue.
In conclusion, I would neither recommend nor dissuade you from seeing either of these two movies. Your call. Let me know.

I'm glad to hear that you are going to give it a try. But I would agree with your other friend below that said to read it with an open mind. Because if you have reservations about it, then it will be hard to enjoy it.
I also thought "He's Just Not That Into You" was definitely not as good as I thought it would be. I expected it to be much better, and it was a disappointment. I felt like they glorified adultery and that was offensive.
It always is kind of annoying when people sign their name as anonymous isn't it? ;) Yah, those comments were me. I don't really know you, so I wasn't sure if I should sign my name. But I do know Hylan from church..back in the day.
I have always enjoyed a good debate too, but I try to be very tactful and respectful, so I hope it came across that way to you. But I am also direct.
I really liked Taken...maybe I've become desensitizied.
As far as Twilight goes, I adore the books. However, you have to keep in mind that they are considered young adult literature and are, by no means, the next great american novels. They can be a bit cliche and Edward is portrayed as a bot too perfect, but I still liked them.
