By the way, thank you all for your wonderfully sweet and supportive comments, especially lately. I would respond to them, but I don't know how often people check back on the comments section to see if I've replied, and I don't have the fancy reply feature (that I know of), so yeah, thanks.
I had my glucose tested today. Luckily, my doc is way cool and just gave me the juice and told me to drink it at 8:00 am and come in at 9:00 am. So, I did. Mine was fruit punch-flavored. It wasn't that bad until I got about half way through. I don't usually chug drinks (especially sugary ones!) so at that point I started not enjoying it, but really it wasn't the worst thing in the world. I think the finger prick was almost as painful. Anyway, I got the green light, so I'm glad that whole thing is over.
I think I took this picture this week probably on Tuesday, but I can't remember for sure. First time I've felt "huge." EEK.
Speaking of pregnancy for a second, I'm quite sure that I've gained as much weight in the past 2-3 weeks as I did the entire first 24 or so weeks of pregnancy. Crazy. The transition into the third trimester has been much more obvious than into the glorious second trimester, which seemed to come much later and last much shorter than "they" say it's supposed to.
But hey, progress is progress! Although I have normal aches and pains, discomforts, and sleeplessness, I can't complain too much. Nothing too terribly odd going on here and I'm just getting more and more excited to meet our little girl. I can honestly say that I have been exceedingly happy these days, even on days I haven't felt well. And for that I am most grateful!
Hostess is dead. It's sad that many people (especially the ones who had nothing to do with the union strike) have lost their jobs, but I can't say that I really care about losing twinkies. I honestly can't think if I've ever had a Hostess product. I mean, I'm sure I have somewhere along the way, but HELLO I GREW UP IN TASTYKAKE COUNTRY, so I most certainly did not miss out on packaged/processed baked goods in my school lunchbox, thankyouverymuch.
Anyway, these days I rarely buy stuff like that, because if I'm going to have a treat, I kind of want to be the one who bakes it, ya know? Much more worth the calories that way (and then I can claim it's all-natural!). But if you're sad, I am sorry, because many of their products are American food icons. And what will state fairs do without their deep fried twinkies? HA!
We're moving most of our stuff tomorrow morning and then hopefully officially moving-in/sleeping at our new place on Wednesday. It has been a whirlwind of late, but I'm excited, especially for some of the purchases we have made! It will be chaotic for awhile, but luckily I'm not working full-time during this move (and have a break from teaching next week for the holiday). So although my pregnant body moves slowly, I should be able to do a better more efficient job with the unpacking this time around.
Have a nice day, my friends! :)

Oh, your doctor is nice! I had to go into a lab and the first appointment I could get was at 2 p.m., so I had to fast until 2...and I don't know what, the combination of fasting, of drinking that crap drink, or my fear of needles...made me puke right after getting my blood drawn. By the way, you just had a finger prick, not a blood draw???? I had to go back and get retested, they drew my blood every hour for 4 hours to make sure I didn't have gest. diabetes. So lame. Didn't have it. And twinkies...I have had them maybe 5x in my life??? And good luck with all the fun changes coming your way!
ugh!! I looked at the picture of the glucose test and just started getting queasy. Good for you for getting it down.
LOOK AT YOUR CUTE PREGO SELF!!! You are so adorable Emily! :)
Good luck with your move! We need your new address!!
XOXO
