Now that you know, let's be real...

I've found it easier not to blog than to complain about how much fun pregnancy is!  ;o)

I'm sure that I could have it much worse but there are so many times I've wondered how any woman has chosen to do this more than once.  I guess maybe because it's worth it and because maybe your forget a little bit about how much fun you had when you were pregnant, but it's difficult to have that perspective when you feel sick a lot.

Well, anyway, I hope I've moved mostly past those awful nauseating feelings.  The strange thing is that the only three times I've thrown up have actually all come during the second trimester.  I am starting to feel not quite so queasy these days, so hopefully I don't gag while brushing my teeth anymore and maybe I can be done with cookie-tossing and get back to more of the cookie baking!  And maybe my appetite will increase and I'll actually enjoy food again.

I don't expect to feel any less tired any time soon...possibly not until the resurrection, so I guess I'll just deal with that one.  But these darned headaches!  Yikes!  All I want is ibuprofen but I know I'm not supposed to have it and Tylenol just isn't effective against headaches for me, so I'm not sure what to do about that.

Ha ha!  You better believe it, Pooh Bear!

I won't dwell too much more on the "fun" like the growing pains and stupid nasal congestion, and other things that are TMI, because I'm sure I will love all of this so much more in a few months when I've gained more than 2 pounds and start to feel and look heavy heavy heavy and awfully imbalanced...but at least I'll glow, right?  RIGHT?!  Ha.

I'm also going to pretend to be blissfully unaware of the whole labor and delivery process (don't expect any detailed birthing stories from me, I'm just too private of a person, but feel free to share your stories for the benefit of womankind).

I must say all of this has just made me appreciate and respect womanhood so much more!  What a noble and respectable office.  We all have the opportunity to mother and what an important divine roll that is!

By the way, Katie Jo, we don't know the gender yet--that's not the secret I'm still keeping.  I finally scheduled an ultrasound for October 1st, so here's to waiting another few weeks to find out we are having a girl, *wink.  We have no boy names picked out and I would be completely shocked if this baby is a boy.

I hope you're feeling better by now! And don't worry about labor/delivery (although study about it, of course). You'll rise to the occasion and it will work out. Meeting your baby for the first time is so incredible.
