Spring is Delightful

Last week was quite busy with one semester ending and another one beginning, finishing grades, and working at BYU Women’s Conference on Thursday and Friday.  I spent time each day of the week at either UVU or BYU.

These are the only pictures I have from Women’s Conference, darn it.  And we looked so legit in our fashionable blue vests too!  Ha ha.  But look how beautiful it was on Thursday.  By Friday, all the pink blossoms had been blown into oblivion by the wind.

These were the "favors" for the sisters who we invited to help us out.  I color blocked the hugs and kisses for them.  The sticker says something like, "Many thanks for your sweet service, XOXO."  Gosh, I'm so clever.  Ha ha.

Hylan and I finally updated a few things around the house that bugged me since we moved in.

And wouldn’t you know that I would receive an email from IKEA a few days after all of our purchases that said this:

"With select HEMNES furniture 20% off, April 28 – May 6, 2012"

So, everything we bought we could have waited one week and gotten it all 20% off.  Ah well.  I guess ya win some and ya lose some.  I was going to wait to post this until I actually organized and decorated the shelves, but as you can see, I haven’t taken that opportunity yet, but it still looks so much better!

So, I’m thinking about running the AF Canyon HalfMarathon*.  I’m currently following  week 5 of this plan, even though it’s technically week 1 for me (but I’ve been consistently running 3-4 miles, 3-4 days a week, so I figure, I can catch up.  No prob cause I’m super fast, you know.  Ha ha!

My only issue is that I don’t like workout plans that overemphasize cardio.  Too much cardio gets my body out of whack.  So, my cross-training days are strength training & yoga days.  I just know my body is much happier that way.

And that's what I've been up to in a nutshell.  I'm looking forward to a low-key summer, since I'm on break from UVU!

*UPDATE:  In preparing the links for this post, I discovered that registration for the AF Canyon Half Marathon is closed.  Hmm...I guess people prepare long in advance for these types of things.  I'm not sure if I can get ready in one month for the Utah Valley Half...so, maybe I should just scrap it all together.  Running makes me hungry and bloated anyway, not to mention my ankles are feeling weak.  So yeah, I think that hair-brained idea is nixed.

5K anyone?  Lynn?  Allison?  Hylan?  Anyone?

That entertainment center is so cute!!
Mmmm... hershey's kisses....

Way to go training for another 1/2 (or thinking about it). I'm thinking about doing the all girl one in Alpine in August, but when I think too much about it I think I'm crazy for even thinking about it.

As for the AF canyon one though, I'd just be nervous to run downhill that much again since that course is mostly downhill ... canyons can be tricky that way.

Are you thinking about the AF Canyon 5K instead of the half? Sure I'll do it. Nick says he'll do it also. Bring it on!

Though I guess that means I need to start running, huh. Bummer. Haha.
